If you liked Dan Millman's "Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior", then let Kay Whitaker's "The Reluctant Shaman" take you on even deeper sacred journey. My consciousness altered noticably every time I started reading it...and then magical shifts started happening in my life!
Suggestion: read "Reluctant Shaman" for pleasure and knowledge, then use it as a text book. I have practiced many of the exercises (finding my song, the kundalini and chakra experiences, etc.) and I'm delighted with the surprises that have made me grow! I love to e x p a n d my awareness and this book is a treasure into which I repeatedly dig. There is more packed in here than meets the eye! This book's a keeper for anyone who is a mystic/shaman in training! Let your heart sing!

Excellent instructional instrument. But ...

To appreciate this book you MUST know what the author is talking about. Without such knowledge this book shall be a waste of time and money. I was planning to attend a workshop instructed by one of the author's foremost students and I was told to read this book, which I did. When I read it the first time, I seriously thought that it was one of the worst books I have ever come across and I decided not to attend the workshop. Through some odd twist of fate I changed my mind and actually attended the workshop. This has been my first practical experience in this field and I have no problem to state it has been an extremely rich one. Then I re-read the book and I realized that it's NOT a new agey, drug-inspired, empty sequence of words. On the contrary it's a down-to-business, very practical instructional instrument. It's almost like a cook-book. Again, as long as you know what it's talking about.
The book in itself is not written very well. It doesn't flow smoothly at all. The continuous quotations of the author's teachers make it a hard reading: after a while the "me-Tarzan-you-Jane" style gets on the nerves. In my opinion this book doesn't do the justice of this very fine lineage of shamanic pratictioners, instructors and healers. However, if you have been exposed to their instruction and need a text-book to go over their teachings, this is a must have.

Much Needed and absolutely Excellent Resource for Vascular Tumors, Proliferations, and Malformations

Excellent Book. First, there have been no pathology textbooks that have focused exclusively on vascular tumors, proliferations, and malformations. Many textbooks cover these lesions, but they are may not cover them as in depth as they should be as they can occur anywhere in the body. The benefit of this book, while being mainly focused on vascular lesions that predominantly occur in the soft tissue and skin, takes the added step to characterize these lesions in every anatomic site and offers the appropriate differential diagnoses for these sites. Furthermore, this text offers the decision making paradigms and approach to diagnosis necessary to adequately assist the everyday practicing pathologist.

The images are beautiful. The number of clinical photographs, radiographic images, and gross images are probably the most I've seen in any textbook and significantly contribute to the overall quality of the book as it is often reinforced throughout the book how much of a multidisciplinary approach is absolutely necessary to make the diagnosis of certain vascular lesions. The histologic images are very detailed and descriptive offering site specific histology as well as all the histologic variants supporting its use as a reference text. All major tumor entities from the most common to the rare are thoroughly discussed and covered in exceptional detail. The authors and contributors are excellent, all having worked at the top institutions across the country ranging from MD Anderson Cancer Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Emory University, and Cleveland Clinic among others.

Joyce Meyer chronicles a refreshing, motivational and uplifting devotional guide, filled with spiritual guidance, to walk on the road of happiness. The author discusses how and why negative thoughts can easily become the enemy of our lives, the importance of right action and thinking, and how to determine our priorities. This inspiring and encouraging devotional explains the importance of living with love, how to set the tone for the day, and how to resist the temptation of giving-up. In addition, Joyce Meyer highlights that a happy heart is good medicine, why we should choose to say good things, and the crucial importance of the power to believe. We learn about the influence of thoughts, words, and habits, and how they play a part in everyday life. The author also discusses the 'I Am And I Can Attitude' and its reflection in our lives. Most important, spiritual maturity is encouraged, and readers learn why many people may need a time for change, in order to have a new beginning. To have power over negative thinking, along with taking control of our speech, combined with a positive attitude reflects everything. Joyce Meyer guides us on how to set the tone each day as we learn about the power of words, and the power of the mind. Daily Inspiration

Feeding our thought with positive, buoyant, hopeful spiritual truths is a helpful discipline. That's how this book can help. Each day there is a Bible verse of hope, strength, comfort, power and possibility, with a little lesson of how that verse applies to modern life and a take-away thought you can think about through the day. Instead of our thought circling fruitlessly around our problems, or worrying, we can substitute a spiritual law or promise which governs our situation. As the author writes, "When you have a problem, nothing negative will fix it."

This book takes the powerful laws and truths in the Bible which speak to God's care, love, protection, support, help and comfort to fill our thoughts with. Some believe there is spiritual law and power behind these verses, that when applied to your life, the problems become resolved, dissolve or easier to deal with as you go forward. A solution might appear to you as your thought is focused on the spiritual truth governing the situation.

To give you an example of what's covered, the lesson for today is "Increasing Your Faith" with a verse from Hebrews - affirm your faith in God's care and power when a negative thought, doubt or despair appear. Other topics covered include joy, "if's", motivation, your future, encouragement, God's timing etc. It's great to have a spiritual lesson for each day to consider.

This book is attractive with a thick, colorful cover. The pages inside have a charming, soft check on them which fades out towards the bottom of the page. This would be great to keep by your bed and read first in the morning and last at night. I like underlining and writing thoughts which come to me on the pages, but the kindle version might be helpful for those commuting. The only recommendation for the future for the publisher is attach one of those ribbon-like book marks to mark the daily page you're on would be helpful - although a book mark will work in the meantime.

If you like strengthening and comforting Bible verses with a positive sermonette below, you should enjoy this book. I like spirituality which speaks to God's promises of good to us as God is Love and Spirit, says the Bible. This little volume is full of verses reminding us of the divine good and support available to us in this life adventure.

A new framework to question what values truly matter and how to build empowering systems that lift you up not limit you.

I read this book via another website and wanted to share my thoughts with Amazon.

When we look at the average highly successful athlete, entrepreneur or writer we often think that they embody traits that we can somehow never access. They have skills that we cannot even begin to comprehend. Unfortunately this is a fiction, and even worse yet - a very limiting one. Amazing things can come from small simple daily incremental steps and the foundation for that is a mind that supports and nourishes your growth. This is exactly what Scott Allan has produced in this book - a thoughtful reflection of the mental process.

He has broken down this process into various steps.

1. Importance of thinking for yourself over others.
2. Controlling fear
3. Mastering your circumstances.

I don't want to give away too much with each chapter but each one is presented with a ton of actionable content and key takeaway points which rehash the main chapter focus. There are a lot of great resources that I had never heard of, particularly the organizational techniques.

What you will get with this book is - an actionable framework for building a reality that allows you to focus and build a new you.

Not a difficult read and full of great actionable content. Recommended.

This book challenges you to UP LEVEL and fire up your thinking for success

There are some brilliant mind hacks in here that will boost your mental resilience, have you SMASHING through FEAR, and empower and hardwire your thoughts for success. The Author shows you how important a positive mental attitude is for creativity which is the powerhouse for generating ideas. You are also shown HOW to create the right environment and conditions so you become an idea machine, and are able to have the confidence to monetise and create multiple income streams from them. A really good read!

Take control

The third one I've read, this is perhaps Scott's most practical book yet. We've all heard of the power of positive thinking, this book shows you in simple and easy to implement steps how it works. Scott shares many useful techniques that help you clarify your thinking and make your brain work for you. Situation simulation is one of those techniques and is particularly effective in stress and anger prevention.
When you know how to empower your thoughts, there is so much you can do, achieving financial success just one of them.
